Oh, my brothers (and sisters) ... for my birthday, my wife, Donna, surprised me with a Mezco Toys, Alex DeLarge/A Clockwork Orange, 12"action figure.
Michael "Mez" Markowitz's sculpting on this piece is over-and-beyond superb, as one can tell from Malcolm McDowell's captured, facial likeness and his detailed, on-the-town attire, which is suitably steered for listening to Ludwig van after a long night of sipping milk plus and indulging in some wholesome "ultraviolence" and/or "the old in-n-out."
The figure comes with apt accessories: cane, knife and assault mask. The combination is rather formidable and fits to a tee in the weird, alternate reality penned by Anthony Burgess and re-imagined by Stanley Kubrick.
The box design is quite pleasing, too, sporting a color scheme that's nothing short of "right, right, right." (A darling portrait of our endearing lad adorns the back.) The overall aesthetic creates a convenient, display case for any droogies who wish to keep their dear Alex-boy MIB.
I'm in dystopia heaven with this one, and I owe it all to my thoughtful wife. Bless you, Donna. Bless you, bless you and bless you yet again!
