ADARKAH IANQU'S UNIDEAMORA: HUNGER, LUST AND DISPLACEMENT

In listening to Adarkah Ianqu's unideamora, I can't help but think of those old, eerie sound-effects albums of my youth, though of course with Ianqu, there's profound meaning and emotion behind the creaks and clangs, which pours like sweet, provocative acid upon the brain.

To be specific, unideamora touches upon hunger, lust and displacement, punctuating the mind and the soul with each stinging chord.

For the sake of hunger, the opening track, "more" presents a soft, rolling pang, of an emptiness within a full stomach, never satisfied, no matter what one devours.

"Tinnitus" extends this contradictory torment, yowling a windswept heat that pounds one's face without reprieve, as one craves that elusive, cool drink. Abetting this sensation  is "complaint", which jabbers its callous contempt to deaf Heaven and Hell.

As for lust, "sassy" is a first-class epitome of swaying hips and high heels beneath a beckoning streetlamp. "Your black dress" is part of that invitation, regurgitating a weird lure that's threatening yet like a black widow's lure, impossible to resist. "Rubber" then becomes the fetish outcome: a bouncing second skin that's too tight for its own suffocating right.

When it comes to displacement, "hermit" is the champ: a tune that invokes a long-bearded drop-out with flies buzzing about his head. "Stolen" is where the hermit's lost soul bangs, going nowhere and everywhere within Deadite woods, but "test four" is the all-consuming, traditional horror, which paints sounds of crumbling coffins and resurrected bodies crawling across a weed-woven floor.

"Toothpaste" is the grand, fiendish finale, a wild wash-away where all the mad thoughts go to rest, but their scars ever deepen into the corridors of the mind, scooping up fierce emotions far too vibrant to forget.

In a nutshell, Ianqu's unideamora is a terrifying, thematic trilogy waiting to be cracked, explored and consumed:
