Aaron "Breaking Bad" Paul is now part of HBO's ongoing revision of Michael Crichton's "Westworld", introducing us to the character, Caleb Nichols.
The Jonathan Nolan/Lisa Joy series seems more in tune at this point with "The Fugitive" or the short-lived "Logan's Run" television offshoot than the '73 movie classic or its theatrical sequel. It will no doubt reinstate not only Crichton's cautionary, A.I. views, but those of Phillip K. Dick and Issac Asimov. (When it comes to nuts-and-bolts life, such blending is expected.)
I don't have immediate access to HBO, due to the cost and that for the most part, its programming evades my interest, but I do hope to see this season somewhere down the line. I also hold Paul in high regard and have faith in the chemistry that he and Evan Rachel Wood will brew. (To boot, "El Camino" was, in particular, an incontestable jewel in Paul's established, celebrated crown; "Westworld" seems a sure-fire way to add another.)
The dark, fabricated wonders of "Westworld: Season 3" begin Sunday, March 15 at 9 pm.
