AIRSHIP 27 PODCAST (MARCH '25): A NEW PULP FLIGHT

NEW STORIES, NEW ANTHOLOGIES 2025

Hello, folks. I'm posting a reminder that I've been published in in two, recent anthologies. 

The first, released in late January, is from Eighth Tower Publications, a Dark Fiction submission entitled The Neuromancers: Stories Inspired by William Gibson's universe. My contribution is "With Eyes Unconstrained," which merges cyberpunk mythology with elements of Rod Serling's Twilight Zone classic, "The Obsolete Man," among other dystopic tales.

The second, released in late February, is from Airship 27 Productions and entitled The Phantom Detective, Vol 3, which caters to the great, pulp investigator, Richard Curtis Van Sloan, aka the Phantom.

My story for Phantom Detective #3 is called "The Phantom of the Garage" and pits Van against a mysterious, deformed gangster who shakes down citizens for protection money, including Van's hard-working pal, Jerry Lannigan.

The Phantom is a popular, masked, pulp-era crusader. In actuality, he's conscientious, Manhattan playboy, Richard Curtis Van Sloan. In the manner of Bruce Wayne, Van Loan embarks on missions after a signal is flashed atop the Clarion Building, where he meets newspaper honcho Frank Havens, who submits vexing, criminal cases that others can't crack. 

For this volume, the Phantom's cases are composed by Fred Adams Jr., Carson Demmons, Michael F. Housel and Michael Black, with interiors by Kevin Broden and cover by Adam Shaw.

Airship 27 Productions' The Phantom Detective, Vol 3 is in its final, editing phases. 

My story, "The Phantom of the Garage," is featured and presents a Phantom-vs-Phantom scenario, with Richard Curtis Van Sloan facing a deformed gangster, who's put Van Sloan's WWI pal, Jerry Lanigan, in financial peril.  

Fred Adams Jr., Carson Demmons and Michael Black have also contributed stories to this swell edition in the Van Sloan legacy, which includes not only pulp periodicals but comics. THE PHANTOM OF THE GARAGE FOR PHANTOM DETECTIVE #3

Ron Fortier has given his stamp of approval for my Phantom Detective, Vol #3 story, "The Phantom of the Garage." 

It's a phantom-vs-phantom fable, if the truth be known, but with Richard Curtis Van Loan's confidant, Jerry Lannigan, at the melodramatic core. 

The story also has some WWI, flashback action, and in addition to its Gaston Leroux nod, a smattering of Al Capone. In other words, the story's villain is a cross between the "opera ghost" and the infamous gangster. How's that for clever? 😊
