R.I.P. JAMES CAAN...

Where does one even begin to list (let alone praise) your string of triumphs? The queue is definitely massive and as such, defines your staggering legacy.

To name but a select few of your glorious accomplishments, there's Countdown; El Dorado; The Rain People; The Godfather I-II (the first part of which bestowed you an Oscar); Brian's Song; Lady in a CageCinderella Liberty; Freebie and the Bean; Blood Ties; The Killer Elite '75; For the Boys; Thief; Gardens of Stone; Silent Movie; A Bridge Too Far; Kiss Me GoodbyeComes a Horseman; Bottle Rocket; Honeymoon in Vegas; Mickey Blue Eyes; That's My BoyElf; Santa's SlaySicilian Vampire; the super-sardonic Alien Nation; and the sadistically sweet Misery.

My favorite, though, of your portrayals is that of Jonathan E. in the original Rollerball: a dystopic and poignant success that drives home the importance of what one man can do, whether in the arena or the socio-cultural tide he rides.

For much the same cause, you'll be long recalled, Mr. Caan, having giving us much to enjoy, celebrate and above all, ruminate. God bless, my inspirational friend.
