MORE LILITH, MORE MONDO CREEPY (FEATURING BLOODSUCKA JONES 2)

The ultimate, curvaceous specter, Lilith Von Bloodworth, returns to haunt a spankin' new Mondo Creepy!

The latest episode (conjured from Lilith's cozy, VHS hub) contains a super-charged, hip sequel: writer/director Justin Armao's Bloodsucka Jones vs. The Creeping Death. And as far as follow-ups go, this is one of those sweet rarities that actually exceeds the trailblazing hijinks of the first. 

For the second chapter, our '70s-styled hero, played by the suave Preston Gant, is joined by his irreverent but resilient entourage (played by Matt Kelley, Brian Girard, Jessica Derks, Erin Holt, William Cutting and Mr. Armao) to combat a zombie army (i.e. the Creeping Death). Jones' smokin' sidekick, Vanessa (Maria Canapino), swings into action, as well, lending a welcome serving of athletic cheesecake to the far-out proceedings. (BTW: My friend, Kelly Kitko, aka Erin Kelly Decker, the tempestuous witch of Ansel Faraj's Loon Lake, cameos in an agile, snowball sequence. Dig it!) 

To bridge the movie's energetic giddiness, Ms. Bloodworth's wit again strikes a super-keen verve, adding a great, comely punch to the main feature's groovy shenanigans.

As guided by the ethereal Lady Lilith, Mondo Creepy's popularity keeps growing. This latest episode is but another cultist case in point.

MONDO CREEPY WITH LILITH VON BLOODWORTH: THUNDER OF GIGANTIC SERPENT

The lovely ghost with the most, Lilith Von Bloodworth, re-enters our dimension from her haunted, video store to host the latest Mondo Creepy, and it is (drumroll, please) ... Thunder of Gigantic Serpent! 

For those who dig the likes of Reptilicus and Gamera the Brave, 1988's Thunder of Gigantic Serpent should more than hit the spot, in that its titular creature is an elongated thing of relentless destruction, inadvertently created by a little girl who's exposed her adorable, pet snake to a displaced, government formula.  

The movie was directed by ninja-flick champ, Godfrey Ho, who inserts a good chunk of footage from 1984's King of Snake. He also adds a generous heap of espionage to the surreal shenanigans (courtesy of martial artist Pierre Kirby), giving it a nifty, Bondian slant.  

As with previous, Mondo Creepy episodes, Ms. Bloodworth is an absolute, ethereal delight, offering comedic, critical insight to the feature, further enhanced by lurid commercials and trailers.

LILITH VON BLOODWORTH'S MONDO CREEPY PRESENTS ... GRAVES!

 

The effervescent Lilith Von Bloodworth (aka Jenny Welsh) has returned to instill her devotees with crisp, November chills and some artistic, crayon skills that would make even the laidback Bob Ross scratch his beard and wonder.  

The newest, straight-from-the-video-vault entry is an accumulation of first-season, mini episodes from the atmospheric, Long Island-shot, web series, Graves, written by Terence (An Unquiet Grave) Krey, who co-directed the saga with Daniel Fox (the series' masterful cinematographer).   

Graves references such popular sagas as It, Stranger Things, Evil Dead, Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, Scooby-Doo, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel (layered with generous heaps of Goosebumps and Tales from the Darkside), as it spotlights neurotic, young adults, who during their teen years confronted a hell-spawned vanguard and now must deal with its vengeful resurgence. 

The cast is led by Christine Nyland (as Jane Stevenson, an aspiring, Daria-ish, comic-artist protagonist) and Hugo Lopez (as Astaroth, her ushering, silver-tongued antagonist; Lopez is also the composer of the series' menacing music). They are joined by such expressive performers as Vanessa Cuccia, Kate Dearing, Rich Vience, Christian Nilsson, Jacob A. Ware and an assortment of talented others. (Beatrice Sniper supplies the sublime, demonic makeup and related effects.)

LILITH VON BLOODWORTH RETURNS: WARRIORS OF THE WASTELAND ON MONDO CREEPY

  

The ultimate, curvaceous specter, Lilith Von Bloodworth (Jennifer Laura Welsh), returns to haunt a spankin' new Mondo Creepy!

The latest episode (conjured from her familiar, VHS hub) is Italy's Warriors of the Wasteland, aka The New Barbarians, a Road Warrior-meets-Escape from New York-meets-Death Race 2000-meets-Megaforce jaunt.   

This 1983 neo-spaghetti western is, in fact, directed by Enzo G. Castellari, who gave us The Bronx Warriors and Escape from the Bronx and occurs in the far-off year, 2019, where nuclear devastation has left few survivors in its wake. Those who wish to revive Earth face a violent, white-armored sect called The Templars. Fortunately, a Templar defector, The Scorpion, played by the suave Giancarlo Prete (aka Timothy Brent), is there to intervene and inspire. (The high-fueled action is also graced by gutsy, supporting appearances by football great, Fred Williamson and horror/western star, George Eastman.) 

To supplement the movie's mayhem, Ms. Bloodworth's wit has never been so super-keen, adding great, comely punch to the fable's fearsome dystopia.

Mondo Creepy's popularity, as guided by the ethereal Lady Lilith, keeps growing. This latest episode is but another cultist case in point. No doubt more engrossing episodes are on the way. Heck, fans demand it!

LILITH VON BLOODWORTH & MONDO CREEPY PRESENT BLOODSUCKA JONES

That luscious lady from the Netherworld, Lilith Von Bloodworth, returns to haunt us with another cinematic specialty from her video vault. 

This time the shapely specter's selection is an irreverent vampire flick entitled Bloodsucka Jones. Writer/director Justin Armao's 2013 parasitic, semi-blackploitation gem is, in fact, a splendid lampoon, helmed by a groovy Afro-adorned hero played by the charismatic Preston Grant, who gives his Blade vibe a real nice, '70s chill. 

Jones is joined by his voluptuous, Vulnavia-esque sidekick, Vanessa (Maria Canapino), as he trains a group of goofy kids to confront a ravenous but beautiful bevy that wishes to puncture their necks or more so, halt a Romeo/Juliet vampire tryst. Will our right-on hero succeed in getting the hapless gang in vampire-slaying shape? Of course, but it's Jones' ageless hipness that makes any contrivances blood-drippingly fresh. 

Thanks to offbeat movies like Bloodsucka Jones, Mondo Creepy is mega fun, and Lilith Von Bloodworth is a delightful guide. Not only is her ghostly manifestation easy on the eyes, but she possesses the sharp wit to hold her own with the best horror hosts of all time.

LILITH VON BLOODWORTH'S MONDO CREEPY REVISITS: GHOUL SCOUT ZOMBIE MASSACRE!

Lilith von Bloodworth is back with another spook-tacular Mondo Creepy installment!

This time our busty, spectral host presents a first-time runner: writer/director Eric Eichelberger's Ghoul Scout Zombie Massacre. 

The film is well acted, brimming of gorgeous gals and fast-paced humor: a cult classic waiting to be born. (There's also enough cool, VHS-styled effects, rockin' tracks and spiffy, sci-fi trimmings to keep all mad-doctor, undead connoisseurs sadistically satisfied.) 

Lilith tops off the silly shenanigans with her superb, sardonic humor and tipsy trailers; and of course, she looks as fetching as ever: the ultimate drop-dead dead-chick of all time!
