SALLY THE ZOMBIE CHEERLEADER'S SCHOOL OF HORROR: TALES FROM THE CRYPT 1972

For her many studious Fleshies, Sally the Zombie Cheerleader incorporates Amicus Pictures' most referenced anthology for her School of Horror's curriculum: 1972's Tales from the Crypt

Tales from the Crypt is, of course, based the EC title by William Gaines and Al Feldstein, which (along with its 1950s, companion titles) inspired the hit, HBO series.

This creepy, movie curation is directed by Hammer Film Productions' revered director/cinematographer Freddie Francis and scripted by anthology king Milton Subotsky. It's supported by Sir Ralph Richardson's Cryptkeeper, who's joined by Peter Cushing, Joan Collins, Richard Greene, Barbara Murray, Roy Dotrice, Patrick Mcgee, Robin Phillips, David Markham, Robert Hutton, Nigel Patrick, Ian Hendry and Angela Grant.

The tales, each culled straight from an actual, EC fable, consist of 1) a murderess facing a killer Santa on Christmas Eve; 2) an act of adultery and the car crash that seals its looping curse; 3) a tormented, elderly widower who commits suicide, only to rise from the grave; 4) a cash-strapped couple and their wish-granting "Monkey's Paw"; and 5) a callous, home-for-the-blind overseer forced into a maze of retribution.

Sally (abetted by SkeleKat and her ghoulish dolls) does another smashing job detailing the production's history, ensuring that when all is said and done, her students will come away as full-fledged scholars of this perennial favorite.

Sally the Zombie Cheerleader's School of Horror: Tales from the Crypt is mandatory viewing, so conjure your courage and settle in for a frightful dissertation.
