MR. LOBO'S CINEMA INSOMNIA: VOYAGE TO THE PREHISTORIC PLANET, THIS SATURDAY

This Saturday night (September 20) on Roku OSI and Twitch, Mr. Lobo's Cinema Insomnia presents the recut, Soviet Forbidden Planet, Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet (commencing with a preshow at 10 p.m. and the main feature starting around 11 p.m.).

Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet, which details the 2020 expedition of monster-laden Venus, was yanked from Pavel Klushantsev's 1962 Planeta Bur (Planet of Storms), refurbished in 1965 by the creative team of Roger Corman and Curtis (Queen of Blood) Harrington to incorporate Basil Rathbone and Faith Domergue. (Harrington ultimately chose to remove his name from the salvaged production, replacing it with the sneaky yet lofty pseudonym, John Sebastian.)

Mr. Lobo delivers another superb, hosting job, fortifying this low-budget wonder with trailers for other sci-fi adventures. The result churns a nostalgic flow that baby boomers and Gen Xers, in particular, will enjoy, but when all is said and done, Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet is meant for fans of all ages who prefer their entertainment "misunderstood."

Be sure to tune in this Saturday to experience the exploratory fun!
