CLASSIC MONSTERS UNIVERSAL MUMMY (1932-1955) FRANCHISE GUIDE

Classic Monsters of the Movies' authors/researchers, Nige Burton and Jamie Jones, have hit the bullseye again with an outstanding, tribute magazine for Universal Studios' Mummy franchise.

The authors kick off the scares with director Karl Freund/John L. Balderston's 1932 classic, starring Boris Karloff as Imhotep, aka Adreth Bay, followed by the Kharis (reboot) queue, which includes The Mummy's Hand, with Tom Tyler, The Mummy's Tomb, The Mummy's Ghost and The Mummy's Curse, with Lon Chaney Jr., concluded by the uproarious Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy, with stuntman/actor Edwin "Eddie" Parker seizing the bandaged reins as the befuddled Klaris.

The 68-page, powerhouse edition (graced by a detailed synopsis for each movie) is adorned by gorgeous, black-and-white photos, as well as vibrant-color, poster and lobby-card reproductions from the lucrative series, packed with numerous, behind-the-scenes details for one of Universal's creepiest semblances.

It sure would be neat if Classic Monsters published a comprehensive, companion guide on Hammer's Mummy movies, but for now, don't let the Classic Monsters Universal Mummy Guide pass you by.
