The 2024, Hallmark-ornament premiere is upon us, and for the sheer joy of it, I thought I'd highlight a couple of this year's inexpensive, science-fiction submissions: one from Doctor Who and the other from classic Star Trek.
First up is the Twelfth Doctor, portrayed by Peter Capaldi. Capaldi's Doctor strikes a mission-bound pose, with fingers stretched for action. The facial likeness does the actor justice, as does his white-shirted, black and burgundy attire. The figure measures approximately 5" and should be a wonderful addition to anyone's Whovian collection.
Next up is Meg Wyllie's lead Talosian, known as the Keeper, from Star Trek's celebrated, pilot episode, "The Cage," and its extended, two-part edition, "The Menagerie". (As Trekkies know, the Keeper and her illusion-forging, Talos IV compatriots hold a special connection to the episodes' protagonist, Captain Pike, in what many consider to be one of the series' best adventures.) This sharp piece is an excellent tribute to Wyllie's commanding character.
The Keeper measures approximately 5", and in addition to her distinguishing medallion, projects a stoic stance, while brandishing her brainy, veined head and regal, white gown.
These ornaments are real eye-catchers and now available for purchase at Hallmark stores nationwide!
