Collectible Time: Hammer House of Horror and Texas Chainsaw '74 Puzzles

I visited Quakerbridge Mall (in Lawrenceville, NJ) on Saturday and noticed that Go! Calendars Toys and Games was promoting a buy-one-get-one-for-half puzzle sale. I felt compelled to browse and purchased two dandies.

One is a Hammer House of Horror collage, and as one can see from the above shots, it features an overlapping blast of the studio's eye-popping posters: Horror of Dracula, Dracula: Prince of Darkness, Curse of Frankenstein, Frankenstein Created Woman, The Mummy, The ReptileRasputin the Mad Monk, X the UnknownPrehistoric WomenPlague of the Zombies, Vampire CircusThe Devil Rides Out, et al.

The puzzle, produced by Aquarius, consists of 1000 pieces. I should think it would be a toughie to complete, considering its many components, vast imagery and color schemes, but wow, what a great one to own.

The other puzzle also stems from Aquarius: a reproduction of the most famous Texas Chainsaw Massacre '74 poster, with Gunnar Hansen's Leatherface and hoisted, screaming victim poised against a white backdrop, accompanied by the unnerving query, "Who will survive and what will be left of them?"

The Chainsaw puzzle includes 500 ghoulish pieces and I'm sure would make one's fingers grow numb with terror if one dared to assemble it.

I consider myself fortunate to have found these two fine, horror collectibles and to have gotten them at such a reasonable, combined fee.
