BLACK LION #4: THE CONCLUSION

Although packaged as part of a compilation through Redbud Studio and Indy Planet (see June '22 post), Black Lion #4 concludes Ron Fortier/Kevin Johnson's epic saga under separate cover.

Black Lion tells the noble tale of Jamal Lyon, a former Navy Seal who embarks on a mission to find and defeat the treacherous, rogue soldier, Conrad Tobias Valane, but along the way, comes to help a fellow vet, the downtrodden Nathan Brewster.

Fortier's storytelling is rendered with a determined yet tender Rambo vibe, and Kevin Johnson's artwork is strong and nimble. (To empower the conclusion, Warren Montgomery lends his inks, and Arrick Church layers on the fine coloring, ensuring this chapter's quality as nothing less than top-notch.)

Black Lion will likely be perceived as a classic some day, so why not welcome its melodramatic splendor while it makes its historic rise? Purchase #4, and all of its effective lead-ins. at
