Raffaele Pezzella's Eighth Tower Records gives the Halloween season ample audio bite with Dracula - Music Inspired By The Bram Stoker Novel, capped by fanciful John Chadwick graphics.
The compilation behaves not only as a tribute to the novel's various parts, but as a soundtrack for the Dracula production one constructs in one's mind.
The innovative artists (listed first) and their bloodthirsty tracks (listed after) bleed as follows:
1) Dead Space Chamber Music ... Nosferatu
2) Subterranean Source ... Creatures of the Night
3) Onasander & Les Ange Morts ... The Castle
4) Michael Bonaventure ... Dungeons of Dreams
5) Grey Frequency ... The Demeter
6) David Strother ... In mist he can create
7) Rapoon ... Landing at Whitby
8) { owt kri } ... Recognition. She is Un-Dead
9) Kloob ... In her vampire form
10) Mario Lino Stancati ... The Van Helsing hypnotism
11) Howlround ... For Those Who Sleep Unwisely
12) Henrik Meierkord ... Carpathians
Within these atmospheric compositions (some even enhanced by stirring vocals and sound effects), there is menace ("Nosferatu", "Creatures of the Night", "The Castle", "Landing at Whitby", "Carpathians"); seduction ("Dungeon of Dreams", "In mist he can create", "The Van Helsing hypnotism"); and abject terror ("The Demeter", "Recognition. She is Un-Dead", "In her vampire form", "For Those Who Sleep Unwisely"). The conjoined effort is as mesmerizing as the Count himself, working its harping, hypnotic chords in steady, forbidding progression.
Eighth Tower's Dracula is one to treasure, praise and replay whenever one's carnal thirsts beckon!
