Some have remarked and/or speculated upon the references and allusions included in my latest Airship 27 Productions release, "The Persona, Vol 2: Green-Fleshed Fiends".
"Forbidden Planet" comes to mind (and was cited in at least one review), though for those who haven't read my novel, I'd rather not elaborate on how the concept applies. (Why spoil it?) The book also contains a trace of the related "The Ultimate Computer" (D.C. Fontana's popular "Star Trek" episode), though I suspect elaboration on it would also reveal a tad too much.
I'll instead turn my attention to its characters:
Illustrator Kevin Broden tapped into the Beethoven-meets-Tarzan guise of Professor Tarr. He even gave Tarr a Johnny Weissmuller look in a test-run pic. I believe that element still surfaces in the book. (For the record, I believe Weismuller would have made a terrific Tarr, particularly in the actor's post-Jungle Jim days.)
As most "bizarrechats" readers know, Jean Harlow influenced Stacey Standish's physicality. I've plastered several Harlow pics in prior posts to drive home this point. Here's another:
How 'bout Melody Montorto? Which actress, new or old, might best represent her? I've envisioned Diana Rigg, Barbara Steele, Ingrid Pitt, Brinke Stevens, Barbara Leigh, Eva Green, Caroline Monro and Martine Beswick for the crafty vixen. However, if I were to pluck an actress straight from "Green-Fleshed Fiends'" time frame, I do believe Myrna Loy would be the most ideal. Do you agree?

Wa-hooo!!! The BIG moment has arrived. "Green-fleshed Fiends (The Persona, Vol 2)" is now an official part of the Michael Mansford/Persona tapestry, thanks to Ron Fortier, Rob Davis and their prolific Airship 27 Productions crew.
The cover was created by celebrated artist Chris Rawding; the nine interior pics by the phenomenal Kevin Broden. Davis created the bewitching back cover.
In this adventure, the Persona faces creepy creatures sprung from the mind of Professor Tarr, a metaphysical virtuoso. Some of Tarr's offspring are huge, though most are small. All proffer a titanic task for our transcendental crusader. Mansford's faithful friends get involved, along with some new characters to bolster the perplexing complexity. Nifty, eh?
Anyway, in keeping with my Persona-posting trend, I've planted another Stacey Standish (Jean Harlow stand-in) image to keep one comfy until one's copy arrives.

Captain Ron Fortier and Chief Engineer Rob Davis deliver supreme, springtime fun, with another Airship 27 podcast.
The April '19 episode is different than most, for not only is it Airship 27's 50th (wow!), but it's the first where the guys can be viewed via YouTube--yes, viewed! That means folks can now absorb a stunning split-screen of Ron and Rob as the dynamic duo relays updates!!!
Among the topics, the fellas detail Fred Adams Jr's "sampler", "Pulp Writer", which is chock full of eclectic ingredients sure to please New Pulp fans. To sweeten the pot, the volume contains fab illustrations by Rob.
Also, on the Adams' front, there's a swell scoop on his latest Ike Mars novel, "Bloody Key". According to Ron, it's "brilliant"!!!
The guys also reference Richard L. Kellogg's newest Barry Baskerville book, "The Buried Treasure", which contains spiffy pics by Captain Action entrepreneur, Gary Cato. (The Barry Baskerville stories are wonderful for children and adults alike: really, anyone at all who appreciates wholesome, mystery adventure.)
Last but not least, the fellas mention my sequel novel, "The Persona: Green-Fleshed Fiends", which is to hit print soon. (Chris Rawding has finished the spellbinding cover, and Kevin Broden has only four, additional interiors to create.) Terrific news, indeed; and it's so great to hear (and see) the guys chat about it. I'm beyond flattered and excited as heck...
