BEDTIME FOR ROBOTS VIDEO SINGLE: WORLD MONITOR'S SKELETON KISS

For Bedtime for Robots' new release, World Monitor (via Dada Drumming Records), fans have been bestowed a spooky video single for the track, "Skeletonkiss", directed and edited by Michael and Jennifer Ferentino.

As with other Bedtime for Robots tracks, mastermind Michael's orchestration is foremost here, for he injects an organic tweak into the tune's electronic groove, creating a sardonic sound that might introduce a future incarnation of his Twilight-Zone-meets-MTV-ish series, Exquisite Machines.

For the video (hauntingly filmed by Jennifer), we're greeted by a nondescript individual wearing a cracked, baby-doll mask and summer dress, dancing outside a topless bar that rather resembles a motel. (Norman Bates during a Mother warmup, perhaps?) The bizarre black-and-white footage is interrupted by a ram-headed keyboardist placidly pressing away in a crimson chamber and then a guitarist (hooded with face obscured) strumming along a fenced, psychedelic-highway stretch. All three, interconnecting portions project glee despite their dejected entrapments, which makes the freakish ebb and flow impossible to escape and easy to embrace.

The visual concept is also rather Devo-esque (falling apart at the seams while tossing a punkish punch), but at the creation's warped heart, it's still sheer, unmitigated Bedtime for Robots.

Weird, wild stuff for sure, which can (and should) be experienced at
