You made your mark as one of the most prolific actors of our time, covering genre after genre, giving remarkable performances after remarkable performance. 


Your vast body of work includes Body Heat; Kiss of the Spider Woman; Mr. Brooks; HellgateNightmares & Dreamscapes; A.I.: Artificial IntelligenceUntil the End of the WorldBroadcast News; Gorky Park; Goliath (for four seasons); A History of Violence; A Time of DestinyThe Contaminated Man; Vantage Point; Accidental Tourist; Alice; Children of a Less God; Tuck Everlasting; Mr. Wonderful; Winter's TaleRobin Hood '10; Lost in Space '97; and the morphing/mind-expanding Altered States


Marvel fans, however, will always hold you near to their collective heart for your portrayal of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross in The Incredible Hulk '08, a role you carried over into other Avengers chapters. 

Your passing proved a painful surprise, Mr. Hurt, but you'll occupy our spirits whenever we sample any one of your inspiring, perennial works.
