Action and tension were your game, and man, did you ever deal them well, Mr. Carver.
In truth, your queue of classics would knock any competitor off his feet: The Tell-Tale Heart '71; River of Death; The Arena '74; An Eye for an Eye '81; Lone Wolf McQuade; Fast Charlie (aka, The Moombeam Rider); Oceans of Fire; Big Bad Momma; Bulletproof; Johnny Got his Gun; Dead Center; Drum; Jocks; The Wolves; Steel '91; Angel City and Capone.
You made my kind of movies: movies with cool heroes and sexy dames...movies with heart and soul...movies that trample all that "get into your feminine side" horseshit...movies rammed with adrenaline, guts and noble purpose and plan. The world needs more such films these days. I (and your many fans) are grateful that you set the essential standard.
