RIP ENNIO MORRICONE...

Your chords, your melodies, your sweeping style, Mr. Morricone, was unlike any other, indivisible with each and every movie you scored.

"A Fist Full of Dollars"; "For a Few Dollars More"; "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"; and "Once Upon a Time in the West" were as much defined by you as any other creative additive, but there are so many other grandiose examples of your expressive input.

Among them is "In the Line of Fire"; "Navajo Joe"; "Red Sonja"; "The Exorcist II"; "The Thing '82"; "Days of Heaven"; "Battle of Algiers"; "Duck, You Sucker!" (aka, "A Fistful of Dynamite"); "Disclosure": "Bloodline"; "The Untouchables '87"; "Bugsy"; "Cinema Paradiso"; "The Mercenary"; "The Mission"; "Mission to Mars"; "Hamlet '90"; "Death Rides a Horse"; "The 5-Man Army"; "Once Upon a Time in America"; and perhaps your richest and (alas) most underrated, "Guns for San Sabastian". And let's us not forget those intense sounds you laid upon Dario Argento's classic thrillers: "The Stendhal Syndrome"; "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage"; "Cat O' Nine Tails"; and "Four Flies on Grey Velvet".

Your compositions have inspired other artists to create, imagine...dream. You are as great as the greatest maestros of your field, whether from centuries past, the present or the inevitable future. Though often imitated, sampled and hummed, there will only ever be one Ennio Morricone.
