SNAKE PLISSKEN RETURNS TO EIGHTH TOWER (FULL STORY NOW FEATURED)

My second, Snake Plissken story, "Snake vs Snake: Escape from Carny Land" is now available for reading through Eighth Tower Magazine. (The online source unveiled the story in two parts in July, and as such, it can now be consumed in whole for complete, seamless, dystopic effect.)

For the record, "Snake vs Snake" falls between the events of Escape from New York and Escape from L.A., dropping our respected anti-hero into the throes of a mutant colony, which falls prey to warring, mob factions seeking a high-tech, prototype jeep.

I really had fun writing this one, and I trust you'll have as much fun reading it.

Portions of the Eighth Tower Magazine are free per Patreon, with benefits available at various, subscription levels. The magazine is well worth a look, as it offers not only interesting fiction, but enriching explorations of the company's amazing, experimental music.

MORE SNAKE PLISSKEN FICTION FOR EIGHTH TOWER MAGAZINE

I have a new Snake Plissken adventure in Raffaele Pezzella's Eighth Tower Magazine: Music, Fiction & Modern Mythologies. It's edited by the accomplished Chris McAuley, and the first part is now posted, with the second scheduled to drop on July 30. (The story's striking artwork, which initiates this post, comes courtesy of the generous Mr. Pezzella.)

"Snake vs Snake: Escape from Carny Land" is the title, with events stationed in toxic-laden Arizona, at an amusement park that's been transformed into a scientific, research facility. Reptilian mutants roam the landscape, as led by Snake's rival, Idris Coulson.

Idris is reminiscent of Ox Baker's Slag from Escape from New York, as well as Robert Clarke's Gilbert McKenna from The Hideous Sun Demon, Dirk Benedict's David Blake from Sssssss and Waylon Jones, better known as Gotham's Killer Croc.

The story also references aspects of Star Trek's "Miri," Battlestar Galactica's "The Young Lords" and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, wherein children are led into peril, in this case as Idris and Snake battle intersecting mobsters who hope to seize a prototype jeep.

Like my first, Snake Plissken, Eighth Tower submission, this one transpires a short period after the original John Carpenter/Nick Castle movie.

For those interested in reading "Snake vs Snake," Eighth Tower Magazine awaits. Portions of the magazine are free through Patreon, with benefits available at various, subscription levels. It's well worth a look, for the site offers not only interesting fiction, but enriching explorations of the company's amazing, experimental music.

NEW SNAKE STORY FOR EIGHTH TOWER

In that my Snake Plissken story, "Snake Against the Vampires: Escape from Pueblo De Sangre," had a positive reaction from Eighth Tower Magazine subscribers, CEO Raffaele Pezzella asked me to compose another. Due to my many assignments and their tight deadlines, the story's progression was often impaired, but I'm now pleased as Punch that it's finished.

It's called "Snake vs Snake: Escape From Carny Land," which occurs in toxic-scarred Arizona, at an amusement park that's been turned into a low-rent, scientific, research facility. Mutant reptiles roam the landscape, along with humans who've adapted reptilian traits, including Snake's rival, the anguished Idris Coulson.

Idris is a big brawler, along the lines of Ox Baker's Slag from Escape From New York. He's also reminiscent of Robert Clarke's Gilbert McKenna from The Hideous Sun Demon, Dirk Benedict's David Blake from Sssssss and Gotham City's Waylon Jones, better known as Killer Croc.

To raise the peril, the tale includes wayward children (in the vein of Star Trek's "Miri," Battlestar Galactica's "The Young Lords" and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome), who are led into a mobster melee by the maddened Idris.

"Escape from Carny Land" is slated for an around-the-bend release. More details to follow ...
