Diamond Distributors has filed bankruptcy, and on this rueful note, the longevity of AC's fine, superheroine line is at best shaky. Nevertheless, Dale of Comic Relief (at Village Commons, Quakerbridge Rd, Lawrenceville, NJ) attained a trio of AC's all-color, superheroine issues for me. Allow me to go down the line ...
For Superbabes #20, Firebeam and Synn delve deeper into a zombie plague at the University of Central Florida (as started in #19). Meanwhile, She-Cat gets romantic, but in the throttles of love, big-time trouble breaks.
For (All Good Girls Go To) Heroine Heaven #7, readers are treated to reprints featuring two of the greatest, Golden Age avengers: the Black Orchid and the Black Angel. The former possesses a handy, fume-spewing ring; the latter, an exotic, aviator's black-leather suit and a feisty spirit to match. Both ladies were designed to please and even after these many decades, still do.
For Femforce #205, the ruthless Loggriss steals Nightveil and Nyoka's DNA on exotic Taragonia, in order to birth marauding monsters. Tara Fremont and Ms. Victory embark to quell the terrifying infestation.
What will the future bring for our lovely heroines and their thrilling titles? I only wish I knew. Let's keep our fingers crossed. AC's titles are too damn important, too damn amazing, to fall to the wayside.
