You were a conduit for us kids in Invaders from Mars 1953, a vibrant, science-fiction epic that was cut from The War of the Worlds cloth, told all from a child's vantage.
You reappeared in the 1986 remake, much to fans' delight, but you were also featured in a number of other swell movies throughout your career.
The list includes Sorry, Wrong Number (with your Invaders costar, Leif Erikson), Shadow on the Wall, Pitfall, All American, Special Agent, Rusty's Birthday, Family Honeymoon, Holliday Affair, Saddle Tramp, The Capture, The Lone Hand, The Mating of Millie, Song of Love, Cheaper by the Dozen 1950, Belles on Their Toes, Katie Did It, She Couldn't Say No, Her First Romance, Top o' the Morning and Again Pioneers.
You quickly became one of my favorites and remained so, Mr. Hunt, always identifiable with a pitch-perfect range, no matter what you tackled. Your work, your cheerful presence, leaves a hole in my heart, but you'll be remembered with great fondness whenever I rewatch your fulfilling works.
