Collectible Time: Mad Max Tin Posters (Max I & II)

In May, I posted on two Planet of the Apes, tin posters that my wife, Donna, gifted me. Well, she's surprised me again, and this time, the tins link to another of my favorite franchises: Mad Max

The first (featured above) is a Thrashead, "fan art," Road Warrior (Mad Max 2) poster, which includes a striking likeness to Mel Gibson and his faithful Ford Falcon Coupe Interceptor, rendered in weathered, bronzy browns. The tin poster measures 12" x 8" and is manufactured by Oyrich. As one can see, it's an aesthetic winner for any Rockatansky fan.

The second tin is a Japanese, variant poster for the original (1979) feature. In this instance, Rockatansky looks more generic, wearing an officious, police semblance (including sun glasses, gun and Main Force Patrol helmet). A police, "pursuit special" is featured beneath him, with Japanese script flanking the image.

This tin poster also measures 12" x 8" and is produced by Niumowang: a sharp, stylish, impression-of tie-in that one isn't likely to see too often.

I thank dear Donna for these reeved-up collectibles. They give me utter right to roar, "Long Live Mad Max!"
