Hallmark has released its October 2020 ornaments, and as a big-time, Batman fan, I thought it might be fun to highlight a trio that springs from the Caped Crusader's enduring, live-action legacy.
First up is Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, displayed in a garish but fetching outfit lifted straight from this year's big-screen "Birds of Prey".
This limited-quantity ornament flaunts Robbie's sexy smile and shape, her deadly, clownish hammer and nifty, designer skates: a tasty vision from all angles. No sculptor is listed for this one: a darn shame, because whoever fashioned it deserves heaps of credit. (Ms. Quinn measures 4.6".)
Next up is a limited-edition Burgess Meredith Penguin piece. Sculptor Patricia Andrew has captured Meredith's mayoral pose, beaky nose and trusty umbrella to a tee. This one is without question a villainous masterpiece. (The Penguin also measures 4.6".)
Last but not least is a new reproduction of the '60s, George Barris Batmobile, featuring inserted figures of Adam West's Batman and Burt Ward's Robin. This sleek and stylish ornament was sculpted by Orville Wilson, and boy, did he ever do an astounding job rekindling the vehicle's unforgettable look. (The Batmobile measures approximately 4" in length.)
Hallmark always produces outstanding ornaments. These are but three in another fruitful year of impressive, pop-cultural tie-ins. Visit your local Hallmark store today to feast your eyes on (and purchase) any number of the company's vast array of collectibles.
