Thanks to Main Enterprises, Brain Freeze #5 has just hit print and contains Halloween homages that won't only scare, but are certain to bring out the child-like wonderment in all.
The issue is, in fact, the biggest Brain Freeze to date, with 52 walloping pages, and it's no surprise, considering the number of contributors on board: Anthony C. Gray; Jamie Chase; Amanda Norden; John Lambert; Brien Wayne Powell; Rick McCollum; Kel Crum; Kevin Duncan; Doug Holverson; Simon Mackie; Marc Haines; Wayne Judge; Tony Lorenz; Verl Holt Bond; Mike Kennedy; Jacob Dubi; Jay Moore; Alan Groening; Pam Bliss, Brad Foster, Michael Anthony Carroll; Bruce Rosenberger, Rusty Gilligan; Brad Foster; and Allen Freeman. (Whoa! If that line-up doesn't knock one's socks off, nothing will!)
Among the contents one will find Lovecraft-inspired fiction and hair-raising, horror comics. Also included are detailed illustrations of the Mummy; Michael Myers; the Peanuts; Cthulhu; Nosferatu; the Grim Reaper; "The Rocky Horror Picture Show"; and "Trilogy of Terror'"s Zuni Doll, to name but a creepy few.
This is a wild, feel-good issue on all counts, full of new and old charms, designed to fill one's heart with warmth and one's brain with a distinct, autumnal chill.
To purchase Brain Freeze #5, send a check of $6.25 (for U.S. distribution only) to Jim Main: PO Box 93; New Milford, CT 06776-0093. Happy Halloween!!!
