Along with Penny Marshall's Laverne DeFazio, you became pop-culture royalty as Shirley Feeney on the Happy Days' spinoff, Laverne & Shirley (as well as the animated Mork & Mindy/Laverne & Shirely/Fonz Hour), and your participation in George Lucas' American Graffiti and More American Graffiti as Laurie Henderson sealed your coveted status even further. 

Additional television and the big screen appearances abetted your envious fate, with so many appearances in so many popular and varied productions: Beware! The Blob (aka Son of Blob); UFOria; Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman; The Creature Wasn't Nice; Big Man on Campus; Petrocelli; Perry Mason: The Case of the Poisoned Pen; Cannon; Canaan Land; Rude Awakening; The Conversation; Suddenly, Love; Love, American Style; Police Story; Bingo; CHiPs; The Biggest Fan; Saturday Night Live; Hawaii Five-O; The First Nudie Musical; Drive, He Said; Travels with my Aunt; Meet Wally Sparks; Gas-s-s-s; and the terrifying The Killing Kind. 

You were lively and grand, innocent and bold: a great combination for a great lady. It's no wonder that you left such a strong impression on us, and it's no wonder you'll continue to do so. You are, beyond any doubt, the unshakable stuff of mirthful longevity.

Monster buffs appreciate you for your lead in "Beware! The Blob" (aka "Son of Blob"), but let's not downplay your presence in "The Spectre of Edgar Allan Poe" (where you perfectly captured the moody essence of the eponymous author); "Evil Town"; "The Devonsville Terror"; "If Don Juan Were a Woman"; "Eve" (aka "Eve in the Jungle"); " Olivia" (aka "A Taste of Sin"); "Hex"; "The Ceremony"; "The Happening"; "Ensign Pulver"; "Road to Salina"; "Killers Three"; "The Passover Plot"; "The War Wagon"; "Young Billy Young"; "The Savage Seven"; "Gone with the West"; "Hambone and Hillie"; "Agliok and Blubbo"; "Angkor: the Cambodia Express"; and "The Man from O.R.G.Y." (aka "The Real Gone Girls"); as well as a groovy cameo in "Easy Rider". 

You wove placidity with raw nerve, Mr. Walker, making your portrayals empathetic and credible. This makes you one of the last of a distinguished, vanishing breed and ensures that your nuanced accomplishments will be remembered and praised well into the future.

You were a Harlow of your time, enough so to have even played the legendary star in a '65 bio pic.

You had a real charm and grace about you, Ms. Lynley, not to mention a swell singing voice when given the chance. Your beauty and tantalizing talent won't be forgotten anytime soon. If anything, it will continue to elevate, bewitch and inspire viewers far into the future and then well beyond.
