You were a musician best known for your catchy hits, "The Breakup Song" and "Jeopardy," the latter accompanied by its David Cronenberg/George Romero-inspired video, but your artistic flair extended even beyond the significant, troubadour scene.
You were also a terrific writer, as your novel (and its accompanying album), The Horror Show, proved. There was also Big Rock Beat (the first, Horror Show sequel), Mojo Hand (a voodoo-blues fable), Painted Black (a Brian Jones-inspired tale), Rubber Soul (in which the Beatles engage in a murder mystery), Shade of Pale (a banshee tale) and the clever curation, Carved in Rock, which contains submissions by Pete Townsend, Ray Davies, Joan Jett, Larry Kirwan and Kinky Friedman.
You were a good-hearted man, as well, as your efforts for Operation Care and Comfort showed, as it delivered much needed care packages to our military members placed in harm's way.
It's a shame you're no longer with us, Mr. Kihn, but you made an impact that won't soon fade. Your works, whether musical or literary, will stand the test of time, reinforcing your status as one of entertainment's genuine innovators.
