At August's advent, I reviewed the Marvel Titan Hero 12" Chris Hemsworth (Love & Thunder) Thor action figure, and now I've obtained a same-scale, Natalie Portman Jane Foster piece.
The Portman figure is, in truth, labeled "Mighty Thor", and though this attribution is bestowed upon Dr. Foster in the movie (in evident and perplexing, PC proclamation), it does Foster an injustice. She has her own identity, as does Thor, so in the former case, how 'bout a sensible compromise: "Mighty Jane Foster", perhaps?
Whatever... The figure, like its Hemsworth counterpart, is pretty darn spiffy, with a striking black/silver/maroon color scheme, an ideal half-facial likeness (the figure sports a helmet, after all), and of course, ol' fickle Mojolinir.
On the whole, this is an attractive addition to the Titan Hero line, and Portman is an attractive lady, not to mention an excellent actress. In the case of Love & Thunder, Foster, through Portman, emotes identifiable depth due to a particular, physiological obstacle she must overcome. (I, for one, appreciate the poignancy it brings to the otherwise tongue-in-cheek, High Noon-ish plot.)
I'm honored to have this figure in my collection, and at a reasonable $11, why would I dare ignore Mighty Jane Foster?
