The Submarine Broadcasting Company delivers such delicious delights, the most recent being a creation by Elsehow. Elsehow is, in fact, the brainchild of the multi-talented composer/musician/vocalist, Piero Delux (one half of the duo, From).
Patterns is Elsehow's new album, which dispatches a number of soothing strokes that invoke an '80s New Age atmosphere.
Pattern's opening track, "Multiply" best captures the masterful gist: snappy, poppy and rolling with inebriation. It's joyful yet erudite, structured to make any backdrop serene, though with enough command to make one glide across the floor.
Its offspring (so to speak) are just as euphoric, with "Cinetic" presenting a percolating path; "B2" designed to accompany one on a Sunday sojourn (though with much more zest than the traditional drive might bring); and "Round", which complements them both by being sweet and jazzy.
"Inertial" works much in the same way, but its build-up is a trifle slower, suited mainly to relaxing downtime. Such can also be said of "October", which brews autumnal waves, seasoned with pastel shades and emotions spawned from a more concentrated (and therefore happier) time.
Elements of these latter two make their way into distinct, sexy ones, which include "Scent" (where Delux's vocals create a most impassioned glow); "Warm" (which is as cozy as the term); and the flowing "By This River" (a composition designed for passion if ever there was one).
The album's concluding tracks (covers, to be precise) hold a more cerebral bent. "Life's What You Make It" epitomizes this, daring one to initiate a more positive view. "It's Raining Today", on the other hand, is more so somber, but through its pensive texture and gentle vocals, one is assured that everything will be all right.
As one can deduce, Delux's Elsehow experience is a most satisfying one. One can obtain it via download or cassette, but in either format, it's mood-setting Patterns are certain to calm the nerves and elevate the senses:
