RIP BERNIE CASEY...

You headlined two of my favorite films: the television classic "Gargoyles" and the exploitation hit, "Dr. Black, Mr. Hyde". In each instance, you gave compassionate, compelling performances, even when in monstrous disguise.

You were also great in "Ants!" ("It Happened at Lakewood Manor"); "The Man Who Fell to Earth"; and "Vegas Vampires"; plus such spirited romps as "Black Gun"; "Cleopatra Jones"; "Guns of the Magnificent 7"; "Under Siege" and "Never Say Never Again" as Bond's best buddy, Felix Leiter. You also charged the guffaws in the heartfelt "Revenge of the Nerds"; the uproarious "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka"; and the wonderful, time-travel escapade, "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure".

You were one of those versatile actors who so many of us respected and admired, but never quite received the full credit you deserved. Nonetheless, rest assured, your legacy will endure, Mr. Casey. You've always been--and will always remain--one of the best.
