For Back to the Future Day, October 21, 2023, Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg's terrific, time-travel tale returns to theaters, via Fathom Events.
The movie (highlighted by Marty McFly and Doc Brown's enduring bond) doesn't require a rehash (for we all know the plot and characters inside out). However, its embedded message is worth a reminder: Good people deserve to be happy (and have full right to fight for that), no matter how many bullying Biff Tannens come along.
The cast delivers the message with comfy credibility, thanks to Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Crispin Glover, Lea Thompson, Thomas F. Wilson, James Tolkan, Claudia Wells, Marc McClure and others in their smaller though no less important parts.
Back to the Future was a blockbuster when released nearly forty years ago and drew sentimental parallels between the 1980s and 1950s, eras appreciated for their self-evident ethics and unfeigned simplicity.
Check local listings to catch this timeless gem once again on the big screen. Thanks to this beloved blast from the past, the petulant present will look a whole lot better through its optimistic lens.
