FAREWELL, FRED WARD...

You were absolutely perfect for Remo Williams (aka The Destroyer) in The Adventure Begins, but you filled the bill in a barrage of other swell productions, too.

The evidence can be found in Tremors; Tremors II: Aftershock; Invasion Earth; UFOria; The Crow: SalvationThe Right Stuff; Cast a Deadly Spell; Southern ComfortEscape From Alcatraz; Uncommon ValorMiami Blues; Exit Speed; Maybe Tomorrow; The Player; Florida StraitsOff Limits; Naked Gun 33 1/3Ginger in the MorningSwing Shift; Sweet Home Alabama; Secret Admirer; Summer CatchFunky Monkey; Corky RomanoHenry & JuneBird's Eye; Joe Dirt; Short CutsWhat I AmEquinox '92; Thunderheart; CircusThe Chaos Factor; Wild Iris; ...First Do No Harm; The Last RideCatchfireBig Business; Bob Roberts; Full Disclosure; DiceThe Dark Wind; SilkwoodChain ReactionPrince of Pennsylvania and more

However, my favorite of your performances came through Michael Nesmith's Timerider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann: a cool, time-tripping tale to the Old West, via motorbike, no less. You brought humor, bafflement and heroism all in one fine shot, and for that, I can't get enough of the movie.

Your rough style and sardonic squint will be enormously missed, but your portrayals will keep you forever and always smack-dab among those who crave varied and unfeigned cinema.
