FUN ADVENTURE COMICS! #13: SCARES, BATTLES AND GUFFAWS!!!

Will Lill's Fun Adventure Comics #13 is here!!! Dig that moody, Warren Montgomery cover of disguise-shifting Mister Chameleon. It sure does set this issue's magnetic tone.

Mister Chameleon's latest chapter is penned by mastermind Jonathan Gilbert and graced by Mike Dougherty and R. Humble's enriching artwork.

This time our crusader pursues a viral weapon in "The Silver Canister Incident". Can our hero seize the device before disaster strikes? As fans well know, Mister Chameleon is far too crafty to let any such harm come to the world, but his quest proves a real spine-tingler all the same.

Issue #13's second story is a new King Jupiter and the Rockets exploit called "The Runaway Guitar", where a desperate, three-eyed entity steals the titular instrument, and in so doing, keeps our robotic band on the run.

Writer Troy Vevasis injects the mayhem with great gusto, as does Denis Pacher's lively imagery, the combination of which smacks not only of Rocky Jones and Tom Corbett, but such slapstick, kiddie shows as "The Monkees", "The Banana Splits" and "The Kids from C.A.P.E.R." (BTW: The King Jupiter panel supplied for this post is a b/w variant; the printed deal is in blazing color.)

The eerie third entry, "Battle of the Dulce", comes from writer Steve Perry, with riveting artwork by Steve Williams and Stuart Berryhill. The story depicts the plight of a fallen soldier during an extra-terrestrial attack within good ol' New Mexico.

The harrowing (is-it-fact-or-fiction?) account projects tons of violent valor, and its creepy H.G. Wells angle will keep one on the defense--and on the edge of one's seat.

What a fantastic trio: each different, yet much the same for all the vast wonderment they bring.
