DARK FICTION UPDATE: EIGHTH TOWER'S BODY-HORROR MERGER

Eighth Tower's CEO, Raffaele Pezzella, has decided to merge his planned Dark Fiction, Videodrome anthology with the company's established The Body of Horror: Stories Inspired by the Cinema of David Cronenberg, thus creating a special, new edition.

The idea makes sense, considering the content's shared elements. This will also allow The Body of Horror to swing back into the limelight, with bonus tales attached, much in the manner of a re-released album that holds extra tracks.

This refurbishing approach might work for other Eighth Tower releases, too, revitalizing the old with the new.

As another promotional move, Pezzella's Eighth Tower Magazine will publish an essay on Videodrome, which is set to correspond with The Body of Horror re-release.

I'm all for this grand plan. In fact, I find it nothing short of brilliant.

Stay tuned for further details, and Long Live the New Flesh!👍

A TRILOGY OF TERROR: EIGHTH TOWER'S DARK FICTION ANTHOLOGIES

For those who fancy the macabre, three volumes now mark publisher Raffaele Pezzella's Eighth Tower Dark Fiction series (available in paperback and hardcover), with parables penned by some of the most expressive raconteurs in modern, horror fiction.

The latest in the series is The Body of Horror: Stories Inspired by the Cinema of David Cronenberg.

Prior to such, Pezzella unleashed The Beyond: Stories Inspired by the Lucio Fulci Death Series, which by its thematic nature, grazes Lovecraftian lore.

And then there's the entry that set it all in menacing motion: The Black Stone: Stories for Lovecraftian Summonings, inspired by Robert E. Howard's homage to good ol' H.P.'s mythology.

I'm honored to have a story in each Dark Fiction volume and will have another featured in the upcoming fourth. (Further details to come.)

Why not jump aboard this dark-anthology sensation? You'll be more than pleased by Pezzella's creepy curations.

THE BODY OF HORROR: STORIES INSPIRED BY THE CINEMA OF DAVID CRONENBERG

The Body of Horror: Stories Inspired by the Cinema of David Cronenberg is now available for purchase. It's the third volume in Raffaele Pezzella's Eighth Tower Publishing's Dark Fiction series, following the curator's H.P. Lovecraft and Lucio Fulci offerings.

This volume's stories spring from the demented minds of Nora B. Peevy (who also acts as the anthology's editor); Sara Walker; Andy Paciorek; Andrew Coulthard; Andrew Freudenberg; J. Edwin Buja; Glynn Owen Barrass; Richard Alan Scott; and John Chadwick.

I also contributed to the Cronenberg cause with my Brood/Videodrome mashup, "Long Live the New Brood", which in addition to the aforementioned fables, references Scanners, Rabid, Shivers, The Fly and Dead Ringers.

Enormous credit goes to Pezzella for compiling this terrifying, thematic package; here's hoping he has more Dark Fiction volumes perched on the horrifying horizon.

And for those who require some eerie, audio enhancement, Pezzella has curated an album of Cronenberg-inspired tracks by some of today's most prolific, experimental composers.
