You were no stranger to staunch portrayals and cultish action, as your cinematic library proves.
You stood alongside Clu Gulagher and the Duke in McQ, with Burt Reynolds in Semi-Tough. You were also a forceful and congenial part of The Greatest (Sonny Liston to Muhammed Ali, playing himself); Drum (with heavyweight legend, Ken Norton); Hammerlock; Leadbelly; Darktown Strutters; The White Lions; Attica; The New Centurions; The River Niger; Hit Man; The Mack; Hickey and Boggs; Big Time; Pray TV; Heart Condition; Stay Hungry; Pentathlon; Jericho Mile; Unlawful Entry; Steel '79; A Thin Line Between Love and Hate; Cruise Into Terror (one of my favorite, creepy tv-flicks); and of course, you shined perhaps your brightest in Sweet Jesus, Preacherman, a cool, irreverent classic.
But your team-ups with Tom Selleck are what most folks fondly recall: in the movie, Terminal Island and the smash-hit series, Magnum P.I., as humble helicopter pilot, T.C. (As a gracious nod, you even cameoed on the series remake.)
Though your performances were specialized and offbeat, you remained consistently kind to your fans. On this basis, you were not only a terrific actor, but one of the genuine good guys. Lord knows this world needs more like you, Mr. Mosley, and there's no doubt that with your passing, Heaven benefits.
