Eighth Tower Publishing's next, Dark Fiction curation will contain stories inspired by author/filmmaker Clive Barker.
My contribution will instill Barker's demonic stylings on Arthurian turf, in a story called "The All-Knowing Orb of Camelot."
The fable will be neither pleasant nor hopeful and therefore, I trust it chills beyond its knightly furnishings, invoking Barker's penchant for "great and secret" mythologies.
When it comes to the Arthurian slant, I leaned on such cinematic visions as John Boorman/Rospo Pallenburg's Excalibur (inspired in its own right by Thomas Mallory's Le Morte D'Arthur) and Cornel Wilde/Richard Shayer's Sword of Lancelot (aka Lancelot and Guinevere), though I must confess, Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot are at best namedropped in my tale. The star of my story is a downtrodden knight named Sir Richard.
More on the anthology and my story will come in the near future. Stay tuned.
