SNOW WHITE 1937: A SENSIBLE ASSESSMENT (CHILDREN LITERATURE PODCAST)

Disney's 1937 adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs might be the only animated, princess movie I now favor. (I also enjoy Pocahontas, but a reflection on the causes and effects of that are better left to another time.) Alas, in recent years, those of us who enjoy the 1937 production have been as maligned as the movie itself, leaving us to defend its virtues time and again.

The below link holds an assessment from TQ Townsend's Children Literature Podcast, which hits the bullseye in Snow White's defense. Give it a whirl. Unless you're a narrow-minded hater of all things traditional, you'll be grateful for the rundown, which not only assesses the Brothers Grimm's curation, but the woeful period in which this animated classic manifested and the humble fanbase that embraced its tender message.
