SO LONG, HUGH KEAYS-BYRNE...

Two of my all-time favorite villains stem from Mad Max lore, and they were both played by you, Mr. Keays-Byrne: Toecutter in the founding epic and Immortan Joe in "Fury Road".

Of course, your portrayals weren't relegated to only Max mythology. Your Shakespearean background oiled you well for "The Blood of Heroes"; "Stone"; "Mad Dog Morgan"; "The Man from Hong Kong"; "Moby Dick '98"; "The Trespassers"; "Journey to the Center of the Earth '99"; "Where the Green Ants Dream"; "Badlands 2005"; "Lorca and the Outlaws"; "For Love Alone"; "Singapore Sling: Old Flames"; "Strikebound"; "The Tichborne Affair"; "Going Down"; "The Chain Reaction"; "Ginger Meggs"; "Snapshot"; "Death Train"; "Blue Fin"; "Burke and Wills"; "Kangaroo"; "Barnaby and Me"; "Runaway Island"; "Sleeping Beauty '11"; "Resistance"; "Secret Valley"; "Les Patterson Saves the World"; and a revisiting role as Grunchik on television's famed "Farscape".

Contrary to the many hardened personas you projected, you were in actuality a gentle, generous and gracious gent, and for that above all, you'll be sorely missed and endearingly recalled.
