Collectible Time: Hallmark 2019 Star Trek--TMP 40th Anniversary Enterprise Ornament

I've been collecting Hallmark, pop-cultural ornaments for years, starting with the company's first in 1991: the "Star Trek" television, NCC-1701 Enterprise.

This year marks a significant release to commemorate the 40th anniversary of "Star Trek--The Motion Picture": the refurbished Enterprise that Admiral Kirk seized to confront the destructive and enigmatic V'ger.

Though Hallmark previously released a version of the design (per the Enterprise NCC 1701-A of "Trek V" in 2005), the timing on this particular submission is more significant. I mean, can one believe that forty years have passed since the big-screen "Trek" revival? We had no idea of how much more history was yet to be made. Indeed, the human adventure was just beginning...

"Trek--TMP'"s Enterprise maintains the basic structure of the television ship, but with subtle, updated traits.

What adds to the novelty's appeal is that when triggered, it emits a stylish, cool-blue sheen.

It sells for $32.99: quite an aesthetic bargain, whether one hangs it from one's Christmas tree or places it among one's "Trek" laden shelves.
