RON FORTIER'S BROTHER BONES: GRAVE TALES, IN HARDCOVER

Ron Fortier's Undead Avenger resurfaces in a stylish hardback volume entitled Brother Bones: Grave Tales

Inside are twelve, thrilling segments from Brother Bones - The Undead Avenger, plus the terrific Tapestry of Blood. That means readers are treated to Brother Bones' origin story, which springs from those tenacious but conflicting twins, Jack and Tommy Bonello, and then get tossed straight into Cape Noire's vast criminality, headlined by a rogues' gallery that exceeds even the creme de la creme of DC and Marvel. (My personal favorite among Bones' antagonists is Harry Beest. Gorilla Grodd, step aside!)

Fortier's writing is swift and stinging, as he presents one of the most original heroes to appear in New Pulp's ever expanding echelon. Through Brother Bones' exploits, Fortier stirs supernatural scenarios, exquisite horror and menacing humor; and Rob Davis' eerie interiors and Adam Shaw's creepy cover take the atmospheric package to a whole new shivering level.

This volume is also historic because it's Airship 27's first ever hardcover release, and there's no better character to have initiated the endeavor than Brother Bones. Even if one owns the Undead Avenger's previous releases, this volume is a handsome collectible that all devotees must possess.
