You were one of those actors whose face was more than familiar.
Your Peyton Place participation (as Professor Paul Hanley) can't be denied, but you entered other television territory as well, appearing on The Virginian (The Men From Shiloh); Bonanza; Gunsmoke; The High Chaparral; The Rifleman; Cheyenne; Wagon Train; Tales of Wells Fargo; Lawman; The Iron Horse; Alfred Hitchcock Presents; The Fugitive; Perry Mason; Barnaby Jones; Mr. Novak; Lassie; Sea Hunt; and Star Trek.
On the big screen, you were also no stranger, taking significant strides in The Return of Mr. Moto; Macho Callahan; Islands in the Stream; Kidnapped; Synanon; Too Soon To Love; Going Under; The Nickle Ride; and of course, Dirty Little Billy.
Your spirit may have departed this earth, but it will continue to be rediscovered, remembered and above all, respected. Thanks for a life well spent, Mr. Evans. We've all benefited from it.
