Hallmark knocks it out of the park yet again with a trio of new, Batman collectibles!
First up is a momentous, long-awaited, Eartha Kitt Catwoman ornament.
Kitt's portrayal of Catwoman on the Adam West/Burt Ward television series is fondly recalled, but she's nowhere near as represented as she should be in collectible form. Hallmark's Keepsake Collection helps remedy the dilemma with a purr-fect, Christmas entry.
The Kitt Catwoman measures roughly 4" and depicts the femme fatale in appealing, tight attire, along with that inimitable, jewel-thief smile. Me-ow! Kris Gaughram sculpted this astounding, limited-edition masterpiece and deserves praise galore for her breathtaking efforts.
Next up is an incredible, 5.5" cut-away diorama of Wayne Manor and the Batcave, designed by the super-deft Tom Best and Orville Wilson. The ornament not only contains the specialized features of both mythic sources (including the handy-dandy Bat Computer and Shakespeare, "batpole" bust), but the striking likenesses of West as Bruce Wayne and Ward as Dick Grayson, in addition to both as their caped-crusading alter-egos.
Also as part of Hallmark's 2021 Batman collection, there's the July release of "The World's Greatest Detective", a marvelous blue/gray 4" tribute to Gotham's famed crime-cracker, molded by the nimble fingers of Jake Angell. The delicate detail on this one is nothing short of jaw-dropping, considering its dynamic pose and many splendid, cape creases.
These ornaments are essentials for any Batman/DC collector, so one would be wise to visit one's local Hallmark store or online Hallmark source to seize them before they're all gone! (I received my trio at Norman's Hallmark {formerly Diana's} on Rt 33, Hamilton, NJ, a bountiful shop that caters to one's special gift and novelty needs.)
