ADARKAH IANQU'S CATALESPY: LADY LURE

Catalespy acts as another fine flex of Adarkah Ianqu's eccentric, musical muscle. The electronic ride implies hypnotic, female lure, of which I'm all for, along with all the good and bad that accompanies it.

Some tracks are more menacing than others, though all ooze an ominous ambiance.

For example, "lydia's flow" projects a basic, parasitic feel, touching upon a fanged beauty with a thirst for male juice. To accompany this succubus theme, "Lilith Lee" reverences the sweet-singing sirens who enslaved Odysseus into a interminable stay because of their seductive ways.

With the album's kick-off, "lady Sophie", one gains a springy, sexual (ex)tension: a languid love spell to pierce the ears and the heart. The same applies to "Antigone's plugs", which implies CFNM dominance: stripped, tables-turned inhibition crawling to shameful, emasculated lows.

"Thalia's improvisation" carries the concept further, letting whimsy define the outset and outcome of what a raunchy lady can do. One might imagine her performing her indecent acts within "Phaedia's lounge": an arid arena where constant, pulse-pounding degradation is explored.

"Helen's bedtime" is the album's whispered send-off: a placid way to bid farewell, after one's emotions have been tickled and frayed.

Ianqu's injections are pheromone-pinged cages, constructed to harness and numb. Once one hears them, one can never let go.
