FAREWELL, ESMERALDA BARROS...

No one can deny that you were a goddess, Ms. Barros, not only of the jungle but the western plains, a pin-up and Playmate, an actress supreme.

I first came to know you through "King of Kong Island", in which you starred with the heroic Brad Harris, but there were other pictures to entice me, as well: "God May Forgive You, Not Me"; "A Man Called Django"; "Django's Cut Rate Corpses"; "Viva Django"; "God is My Colt .45"; "Paid in Blood"; "Where the Bullets Fly"; "Run, Man, Run"; "Voyage to the End of the World"; "And for a Roof a Sky Full of Stars"; "Castle of De Sade"; "Kiss the Girls and Make Them Die"; and the always eerie "The Devils' Wedding Night".

You redefined sultriness, while still being nuanced and deft. For anyone who's savored your beauty, you'll be deeply missed, but the impact of your ample charms will live on.
