EIGHTH TOWER TO PUBLISH FULCI ANTHOLOGY

Raffaele Pezzella's Eighth Tower Publishing is initiating a new, literary homage to yet another horror icon: Lucio Fulci. The contents will be based on the director's Doors of Death trilogy: the City of the Living Dead (aka the Gates of Hell), the Beyond (aka the 7 Doors of Death) and House by the Cemetery.

As with all of Fulci's supernatural submissions, the "doors" chapters are quite graphic, but also rich in Italiano atmosphere, even when U.S. stationed.

The stories focus on the summoning of cataclysmic frights, including worm-infested zombies; a spectral child; a rapid bat; flesh-feasting arachnids; being buried alive; demonic regurgitation; brain crunching; eye gouging; a corpse's head melted by acid; and perhaps the most famous of the lot, murder by a drilling lathe. Traces of Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, Henry James, John Russo and George A. Romero can be found among the unsettling chapters, all gripped and remolded within Fulci's inimitable grasp.

Fulci's trilogy isn't for the squeamish, and this anthology plans to stay in grand, giallo sync. Fanboy authors are now being called to serve, and I'm proud to say, I've already enlisted.
