GOODBYE, EUNICE GAYSON...

As the first, on-screen Bond girl, you added immeasurable charm to "Dr. No" and thereafter, "From Russia With Love".

Your film career was also fruitful and impressive, with roles in "Revenge of Frankenstein" (which also made you an official Hammer Horror girl); "To Have and To Hold" (non Hammer Horror); "Last Man to Hang?"; "Zarak"; and "Miss Robin Hood".

You were also a treat to see in such British, spy classics as  "Danger Man"; "The Saint"; and "The Avengers".

You reminded us that a woman can be talented, classy and attractive: an important message in a time when the likes of the Miss America crown frowns upon such. Nonetheless, your legacy stands as a paragon of womanhood, to be relished and respected for decades onward.

  1. It's interesting that "Dr. No'"s other Bond girl, Ursula Andress also holds a Hammer connection. She's the lead in Hammer's "She" remake.

Martine Beswick, Madeline Smith and Caroline Munro are Bond/Hammer girls, as well.

There are other Bond/Hammer links. For example, on the male side, there's Christopher Lee and Charles Gray...
