You gave us one of the most textured and resounding good-vs-evil stories of all time, inspiring a host of imaginative, hard-hitting offshoots and sequels which continue to this day. Through your fable, you helped me believe in God and to be wary of the devil. Also, your "Ninth Configuration" still twinkles in my heart and in the depths of my mind--and will for years to come. You were a moral champion, Mr. Blatty, and a writer beyond compare, as your legion of fans can wholeheartedly attest. May your spirit reside eternally in the highest heights of Heaven...
