My appreciation for Diamond Select/Marvel Gallery's PVC series continues, with a tantalizing representation of X-Men's Rogue, aka Anna Marie LeBeau.
This 9" figure is based on the heroine's sojourn into the alien-formed "Savage Land," wherein the intrepid yet underdressed Rogue (in this instance, poised on a detailed, vegetated mound) spring from Jim Lee/Alexander Palomaro's memorable, illustrated depiction (a virtual pin-up, if the truth be known), sculpted by the skillful Alejandro Pereira.
The figure's strands of green and yellow embellish Rogue's breathtaking curves and are matched by the piece's showcase-packaging. The crimson "X" on Rogue's left breast, along with her strategically strapped knife and spear, are also stunning augmentations.
I've long been smitten by dear Rogue, and this outstanding sculpture only amplifies my passion a hundredfold. For any Rogue/X-Men fan, or collector of female sculptures in general, Diamond Select/Marvel Gallery's "Savage Land" figure is one to possess and treasure.
