My wife, Donna, gave me a venomous, Valentine's gift this year: Diamond Select's 9", Eddie Brock/Venom, Marvel Gallery Statue.
This PVC piece pays our favorite Symbiote proper Jekyll/Hyde respect, sharing a glimpse of grimacing Brock as Venom takes hold, flaunting a swipe of his Gene Simmons-ish tongue.
Both the front and back of the piece are pleasing in their transitioning, ripped gist, featuring a brick-laden base, latched by alien slime. The setup works to accentuate the imposing figure, much in the style of Aurora's character kits; and like the latter, this limited-to-2000, Comic Con edition is enhanced by glow-in-the-dark (white-insignia) elements. (Per Diamond's credits, this amazing creation was designed by Caesar and sculpted by Alterton; truly, the "stock" pics don't do their exhilarating collaboration adequate justice.)
As with other Diamond Select offerings, this one comes in a stylish, "window" package for those who prefer to keep it MIB.
Venom is a huge part of the Marvel universe(s), and Brock is the most significant of any Symbiote's conjoining characters and that includes Spider-man. To have these coactive knaves in one rendering is most agreeable. I thank my sweet Donna for awarding me this imaginative acclamation.💕
