In July, I spotlighted some of Hallmark's 2023 Star Trek and Doctor Who ornaments. For this post, I'm focusing on two DC legends, Batman and The Flash.
The Batman ornament is, in actuality, Michael Keaton's version, recently revived for the big-budget, multiverse extravaganza, The Flash.
The Keaton Batman is approximately 5" x 4" x 3" and was designed/sculpted by Jake Angell and Tim Bodindestill, who capture the actor's distinct, crime-fighting aura. (The ridged, flowing cape, in particular, is breathtaking, particularly when viewed from the back.) Batman is posed with his grapple-hook aimed upward, just like in a noted scene from Tim Burton's 1989 blockbuster.
Hallmark's Flash ornament captures Ezra Miller's streamlined, red/gold-trimmed suit, which makes this piece a stand-out for its intricate design and well, crimson flashiness.
To commemorate the character's prime power, the adept Angell has depicted Barry Allen in (what else?) a running/sprinting pose. The piece measures 5" x 3" x 1", comparable to Batman's scale.
Batman and The Flash make a great team, whether in the comics, on film or as Christmas ornaments. Purchase a set at your neighborhood Hallmark store or main, online source. They'll look great hanging from your tree or better yet, displayed among your DC collectibles.
