FAREWELL, MORGUS THE MAGNIFICENT...

You were born Sidney Noel Rideau, but to monster maniacs, you were Morgus the Magnificent, who hosted chillers and thrillers for varying years in New Orleans, Louisiana and Detroit.

Your mad-scientist twist projected a real cool-ghoul angle, placing you on the same macabre perch as Roland/Zacherle, Svengoolie (Dad & Son), Count Gregore and Philly's Dr. Shock, not to mention such modern, hosting mavericks as Mr. Lobo, Bobby Gammonster and Lilith Von Bloodworth.

With your sidekicks, Chopsley, Eric, Mrs. Alma Fetish and Wiley Faye, you managed to entertain and educate viewers week after week with horror delights and even treated them to a cheerful, big-screen performance in "The Wacky World of Dr. Morgus". To boot, Frankie Ford and Malcolm (Dr. John) Rebennack's "Morgus the Magnificent" became one of the catchiest novelty hits imaginable.

Your pop-cultural mark will never leave the public consciousness, signifying your significance as one of the most influential personalities ever to crackle through the airwaves. Thanks for all the meaningful memories, nifty nightmares and essential encouragement, Magnificent Morgus!!!
